CHBA CI Kicks Off 36th Training House Project

On August 12, 2025, the Canadian Home Builders’ Association Central Interior (CHBA CI), in partnership with Thompson Rivers University and the Kamloops Y, officially launched the 36th annual Training House!

Guided by instructors and industry professionals, students gain invaluable exposure to all phases of construction, while sponsors contribute materials and expertise to support home building skill development.

“Like any job, you can learn as much as you can and understand the theory, but you can’t replace being on the tools and understanding how the different pieces go together in a house,” CHBA CI President Chris Crowell explained to CFJC News. “You can’t beat the hands-on experience.”

Upon completion, this hands-on learning initiative will become the Kamloops Y’s Dream Home Lottery prize.
