I use my knowledge and computer software to help builders and homeowners make decisions on energy-saving modifications and retrofits.

As a registered energy advisor with Natural Resources Canada, I’ve met and maintained all of my qualifications and I can advise builders and homeowners on the EnerGuide ratings, as well as design and construction practices that can be used to make homes more energy efficient.

What are the training or certification requirements?
To become an energy advisor, you must pass two qualification exams: Foundation Level Exam and Energy Advisor (House) Exam, and be affiliated with an NRCan-licensed service organization to finalize their registration with NRCan.

The mid-range average salary is $62,000 and the high range is $102,000.
