Both inside and outside the home, there are a number of masonry structures that require concrete and a concrete finisher ensures the job is done properly. 

From smoothing and finishing freshly poured concrete to applying curing or surface treatments, and installing, maintaining, and restoring various masonry structures such as floors, ceilings, sidewalks, roads, and patios, there is much work to be done.

What are the training or certification requirements?

Completion of secondary school is usually required, as well as completion of a two- to four-year apprenticeship program or over three years of work experience in the trade. Some high school, college or industry courses in cement finishing are usually required to be eligible for trade certification, which is voluntary in BC.

    The mid-range average salary is $62,400 and the high range is $79,270.
