Homebuilders Initiative

Your toolbelt filled with information about flexible, well-paying and rewarding careers in the trades.

Inspiring Your Career in the Trades

There are over 100 trades to choose from in BC and the demand for workers is increasing. The Homebuilders Initiative is a showcase of many of those trades and it was inspired by you – the next generation of tradespeople who will help design, build and complete communities and homes across this province.

From carpenters to bricklayers, flooring installers and painters, it takes dozens of trades to build a new home from the ground up. Our mission is to inspire you to consider a career in the trades in BC and for this resource to be a toolkit providing salary potential, training requirements and a window into the opportunities that come from mastering a trade.

The Homebuilding Industry Needs You!

By 2033, there will be an anticipated 85,000 job openings for skilled workers in BC. That’s not far away, and allows time to get trained up. With high demand for workers and an abundance of opportunities in BC, this is the perfect time to share information about the variety, earning potential, flexibility and fulfillment that comes with working in the homebuilding trades.

The homebuilding industry in BC is very diverse and is filled with professionals who have discovered the flexibility to live the life they want with financial success. The Homebuilders Initiative is your toolkit to finding your future career in the trades.

If you are passionate about your career in construction and have worked in the skilled trades for plus 5 years, we would like to talk to you about joining us as a volunteer Homebuilders Initiative Ambassador.
